The Department's competences:

The Department is an executive body of the Board of the Wielkopolska Region which functions as an Institution in charge of Management of the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Programmex within the Priority Axes financed from the European Regional Development Fund.

The following obligations belong to the main tasks of the Department: receipt of requests and assessment of requests for co-financing, conclusion of contracts for co-financing of selected projects, monitoring of the implementation of co-financed operations e.g. by accepting modifications in projects and by controlling them, accounting for expenditures incurred by beneficiaries of the WROP as well as drawing up guidelines for beneficiaries and providing information on rules of selection and implementation of projects.

Investments within the scope of strengthening competitiveness of enterprises, health care infrastructure, education infrastructure, transport infrastructure, research and development infrastructure as well as infrastructure aimed at protection of the environment, management of waste and revitalisation are amongst the major spheres covered by support of the Department. In addition, the Department assists in projects concerning development of information society and activities promoting the Region, including its cultural heritage and economic potential.

The Department also supports in the form of repayable financial instruments (e.g. loans and guarantees) within the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Programme for 2007-2013 (JEREMIE initiative – Joint European Resources for Micro to Medium Enterprises and JESSICA initiative– Joint European Support for Sustainable Investment in City Areas) and within the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Programme for 2014-2020 (JEREMIE 2 and JESSICA 2).
