The Department of Regional Policy

The Department is responsible for shaping the regional development policy of the voivodeship in a manner that ensures dynamic and consistent growth across the entire Wielkopolska Region. Its decisions are guided by forecasts of the Voivodeship's development trends. These forecasts are formulated within the Department based on assessments of socio-economic phenomena – partly in cooperation with research and analytical institutions – and serve as a vital source of information for other units within the Marshal's Office as well. Research reports and expert analyses are published on the official website of the European Funds for Wielkopolska 2021-2027, under the “WROT” and “Evaluation” tabs.

The tasks of the Department include initiating, coordinating, and managing the drafting and implementation process – including the monitoring and evaluation – of the regional development strategy. The Department actively participates in creating the necessary conditions for its execution. The Development Strategy for the Wielkopolska Region until 2030 has been in force since 27 January 2020. The Department is also responsible for preparing the annual reports on the state of the voivodeship, which constitute an integral part of the reporting framework on the implementation of Wielkopolska’s development goals.

Since 2004, the Department of Regional Policy has been responsible for preparing and coordinating the implementation of programmes that define the strategic areas of intervention for cohesion policy in Wielkopolska within any given financial perspective. The Department is in charge of the overall management of the ‘European Funds for Wielkopolska 2021–2027’ programme, specifically in the areas of finance, monitoring, evaluation, audit, technical assistance, information and promotion and training.
